People Concerned After Trump Reveals He Thinks Fictional Character Hannibal Lecter Is Real, ‘His Brain Is Mushy Oatmeal’

Donald Trump has some interesting ideas. Scads of them don’t make any sense, but then that’s far from unusual for the former president. He recently referred to fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter in a way that has people scratching their heads. He was speaking to supporters on Friday, June 28, when he warned them about the fictional character as he was inviting them to dinner in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Were fava beans and a “nice Chianti” going to be on the menu? Sorry, couldn’t help myself there.

But Trump used Lecter the cannibalistic serial killer, played by Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of Lambs as a sort of bogeyman, claiming undocumented people are “coming from prisons and jails, mental institutions and insane asylums (I’m pretty sure that term went out of fashion some time ago) like Silence of Lamb.”

Does he think these people are going to start devouring us? We know he loves to fear-monger about immigrants, and those who are incarcerated, but I dunno…this is very over-the-top.

“The press always says, ‘Why does he ramble about Silence of the Lamb?’ The late, great Hannibal Lecter. He’d like to have you over for dinner. Did you ever? Don’t do it. If he suggests, ‘I’d like to have you for dinner,’ don’t go. But these are the people — these are the people that are coming into our country and they are coming in numbers that nobody can believe,” he ranted.

I fail to see the connection between illegal immigrants and Hannibal Lecter. I really have no idea what he means here. He’s acting as if he thinks Lecter is a real person. He’s so out of it that maybe he really does think Lecter is real.

And I’m not the only one who noticed this.

Other folks posted things like “Trump thinks Hannibal Lecter is actually a real person!” and “Yes, Donald Trump believes Hannibal Lecter, the fictional cannibalistic serial killer, is real.”

This is where we’re at folks. It looks like we’re settling in for Trump II: The Even Worse Edition. We’ll have a convicted felon for a president because the Democrats don’t know where the hell their guts are and because the Republicans have lost their collective minds. It won’t be long before Trump, Stephen Miller, and the gang will be back in power if people don’t get out the vote for Biden. Who’d better get it together for the next debate. Because he clearly wasn’t ready for last week’s debate.

And Trump has mentioned Lecter before. He did this at his Wildwood, N.J., rally on May 11, where he told rally-goers, “They’re emptying out their mental institutions into the United States, our beautiful country. And now the prison populations all over the world are down. They don’t want to report that the mental institution population is down because they’re taking people from insane asylums and from mental institutions. You know what the difference is, right? An insane asylum is a mental institution on steroids.”

He says this without any evidence. And so many of his gullible supporters just eat this up. These people can’t be bothered to look beyond Breitbart News and I really have no idea why. The internet has just about anything you could ever want to look up, but I think it’s really made far too many folks just that much dumber. Because they look up information that fits within Trump’s paradigm, which coincidentally is also their paradigm.

At his Wildwood rally, Trump said:

“Silence of the Lambs. Has anyone ever seen The Silence of the Lambs?” he asked, “The late, great Hannibal Lecter is a wonderful man. He oftentimes would have a friend for dinner. Remember the last scene? ‘Excuse me. I’m about to have a friend for dinner,’ as this poor doctor walked by. ‘I’m about to have a friend for dinner.’ But Hannibal Lecter. Congratulations. The late, great Hannibal Lecter.”

People were understandably floored by Trump’s remarks. One person posted “Imagine if Joe Biden said Hannibal Lecter is a wonderful man? The media continues to normalize Donald Trump, who is insane.”

Another person asked:

“Can someone explain to me why Donald Trump is praising Hannibal Lecter during his campaign stop? This is the guy you want us to believe is the better option over President Joe Biden and his administration? No one from Trump’s former administration will even work with him (except for Stephen Miller).…and the rest are serving jail sentences.”

The man’s brains are tapioca. We’re headed for a president who’s got a brain like potato soup. That’s where we’re going, folks.

The Democrats have sat on their hands and done nothing all these months. If they were concerned about Biden, they’ve had months, hell, years to find a more dynamic candidate. I blame them more than I do the Republicans.

This is disgusting. Truly disgusting. I’m standing behind Biden because another Trump presidency is unthinkable to me.

Here’s what others had to say about Trump’s weird comments on Hannibal Lecter.
