Trump Explodes in Anger After CEOs Tease Him for Being Old and Making No Sense

Donald Trump is pushing back against claims that he delivered a “meandering” address to a gathering of influential CEOs in Washington, D.C. last week by doing what he always does: quoting some sycophant on his Truth Social platform. This sycophant, apparently interviewed by the right-leaning Daily Signal remains anonymous, but the quote found favor with Trump, who posted about it on his platform.

“There was never a moment of meandering,” the anonymous attendee quoted by the Signal said. “He was focused. In fact, he received a loud ovation at the end.”

“There was not one CEO who wasn’t impressed with what they heard from Trump. Everybody was clapping,” per the rest of the anonymous quote.

The unnamed source also claimed that criticism about his “meandering” address was a “bunch of b.s.”

Trump spoke at the Business Roundtable event on Thursday, the same day he met with congressional Republicans in a private meeting on Capitol Hill to curry excitement about November’s election.

But as I noted Monday, if you listened to what New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin said on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Trump’s speech before the Business Roundtable was anything but eloquent. He noted:

“I spoke to a number of CEOs who I would say walked into the meeting being Trump supporter-ish, or thinking that they might be leaning that direction, who said that he was remarkably meandering, could not keep a straight thought, was all over the map, and that they – which, may be not surprising – but was interesting to me because these were people who, I think, might have been actually predisposed to him and actually walked out of the room less predisposed to him, actually predisposed to thinking… ‘This is not necessarily,’ as one person said, ‘this may not be any different or better than a Biden thought, if you’re thinking that way.’”

The Biden-Harris HQ account showcased the clip on X on Friday, and this is apparently what led the Daily Signal to question the situation. But one anonymous comment from one person doesn’t make up for the fact that Trump is mentally and physically a trainwreck. Period.

Trump will stop at nothing to gain a second term in the White House, and one way that he’s been doing this is by repeatedly harping about Biden’s age and his cognitive abilities, even though, at 81, he obviously has better cognitive abilities than the 78-year-old former president.

Let’s not forget Trump is making very high-profile goofs of his own in his public addresses, including calling his doctor Ronny Johnson, instead of his correct name, Ronny Jackson, and referring to Biden as “Joe Bride” when he really spoke a word salad during a speech in Racine, Wisconsin.

He can try to shoot down comments about his “meandering” but no one’s going to forget it any time soon.

Nor should we.
