Former First Lady Melania Trump is definitely avoiding the campaign trail and is spending time with her favorite male friends the Log Cabin Republicans. Melania, infamous for her love of seclusion, managed to headline an event last April at Mar-a-Lago for the LGBTQ+ conservative group. Now, as Politico [1] reports, she’s planning to host another fundraiser for the organization in July at her residence in Trump Tower. Attendees will be asked to donate $100,000 to the organization which often supports right-wing homophobic politicians.
Even though Melania keeps pretty much to herself, she maintains close ties with the right-wing gay organization. She’s become the group’s biggest fundraising partner ever, and was honored for that three years ago at Mar-a-Lago with a special dinner, Queerty [2] reports.
Her convicted felon husband has also spoken at a Log Cabin Republican event that was held at his Mar-a-Lago home in 2022.

According to a report last summer from CNN, [5] Melania made more than $1.2 million in speaking fees the previous year and her going rate for a speech is roughly $155,000. It’s unclear, however, whether she is being paid for her appearances at Log Cabin Republican events.
And she remains rare on the campaign trail and has not issued any public statement about her elderly husband’s legal problems. This includes last month when he was convicted on 34 felony charges of falsifying documents to cover up hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
We don’t know what Melania really thinks about the trial, but as usual, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, her former best friend and former White House aide has always maintained that the former first lady doesn’t care the least bit about her husband’s extramarital affairs.

Of course, it’s been reported before that Melania is miffed because she was never featured on the cover of Vogue during her time as First Lady, unlike Dr. Jill Biden, who has appeared [7] on the cover of the revered magazine.
But at least we know the Log Cabin Republicans seem to love Melania. Or the money she brings, anyway.
