Is Melania Trump Being Paid to Stay Married to Trump? One of the Co-Hosts of The View Seems to Think So

We keep hearing that twice-impeached former president Donald Trump potentially faces imminent indictment over the hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in 2016, and who knows, maybe someday that will happen. At any rate, The View co-hosts were discussing this, and Joy Behar couldn’t help but wonder on Wednesday why Melania Trump stays married to her obviously unfaithful husband, The Wrap reports.

That led View co-host Sara Haines to speculate that the reason may be financial.

The question popped up while the women were discussing how Trump’s legal team is spinning the former president’s involvement with the money paid to Daniels. In particular, the hosts debated the claim that he paid Daniels so that she would keep quiet about their fling to protect his marriage and family.

“It’s not directly related to the campaign,” Trump lawyer Joe Tacopina said on Good Morning America on Monday. “He made this with personal funds to prevent something coming out [that was] false but embarrassing to himself, his family, his young son.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin couldn’t help but bring up a tweet yesterday, from Melania’s former friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who noted this defense “WON’T WORK” because Melania “knew about” the affair. This left Hostin, well…baffled.

“I don’t think Melania wants anything to do with the man,” Hostin said. “I really don’t.”

As the women debated this a bit further, they eventually agreed this was probably the case, but then Joy Behar had to ask why Melania is even still married to this man who’s no stranger to divorce.

“I’m sure she gets — never mind,” Sara Haines responded. Behar, however, encouraged her to keep going.

“There could be monies in exchange, deals made, arrangements,” Haines suggested.

Hostin cautioned her to add the word “allegedly” in her suggestion, which is specifically that Melania is staying in the marriage as part of an arranged marriage that she’s benefitting from financially. So Haines offered a brief addendum.

“Allegedly. I said allegedly!” she said and collapsed on the desk laughing, perhaps a bit embarrassed when Hostin added: “See? Now I have a legal note!”

The View hosts have a good point. Who knows? She could be benefiting financially. Allegedly.
