Desperate to Hang on to Relevancy, Kimberly Guilfoyle Attacks Gavin Newsom AGAIN for the Most Pathetic Reason

Ex-Fox News personality and current Donald Trump Jr. arm candy Kimberly Guilfoyle seems to have it in for her ex-husband, California Governor Gavin Newsom. The Republican Trump-loving pundit tore into the Democratic governor earlier this week for his leadership in the state and for failing to discuss in public his connections to the Silicon Valley Bank, The East Bay Times reports.

On the Thursday episode of her online The Kimberly Guilfoyle Show, she said she strongly supported the recall efforts against Newsom in 2021 and joked about one of Newsom’s biggest political embarrassments — the time when he was caught without a mask at The French Laundry in November 2020, right after pushing Californians to stay in lockdown as the Covid pandemic raged.

Guilfoyle began her show by ranting about what she described as the Democrats’ far-left agenda. She complained it has turned California into “a nightmare” — “unlivable, unaffordable, and unsafe.” Then she complained about homeless people overrunning Los Angeles and San Francisco, claiming they have turned the sidewalks into toilets, and per The East Bay Times “creating images that could come out of a post-apocalyptic zombie movie.”

As a former longtime Californian, I can tell you that California became unaffordable in the 1970s. This hasn’t ever been a problem created overnight. I cannot speak to her other descriptions because it’s been so long since I lived there, but California has surely long been “unsafe” and in many instances “unlivable.”

But logic really isn’t Guilfoyle’s strong suit.

“All that’s happened under the one-party Democratic rule and under the reign of Gov. Gavin Newsom,” she added.

Guilfoyle and Newsom’s marriage was a brief one — lasting from 2001 to 2006. She was considered the first lady of San Francisco, a high-powered prosecutor, and part of a progressive power couple who became known as “The New Kennedys.”

The couple divorced after she moved to New York to work in television and she eventually became a Fox News host. Now, of course, she’s engaged to Donald Trump Jr. She’s become a politically-charged figure thanks to her unfailing support for Trump’s debunked claims of election fraud during the 2020 election and also because of reports that allege she was canned by Fox News over sexually inappropriate behavior around her coworkers.

During her program, she doubled down on her support for  Trump’s (baseless) claims that the election was “stolen” from him and that he still belongs in the White House. She also decried how things are going in California saying “hard-working, middle-class families are saying goodbye to the palm trees, the weather. It’s become too expensive, too unsafe, and too unbearable. Across the state, homelessness has spiraled completely out of control.”

I’m sorry Kimberly, your ex-husband didn’t do all that. You’re thinking of the former President (and California governor) and now-deceased — Ronald Reagan, who during his time as governor, tossed literally hundreds of thousands of mentally ill people on the street. Then when he became president he escalated the problem, and this excellent report by Salon details just how bad this became.

Political commentator Dave Rubin also appeared on the program and Guilfoyle praised him for campaigning to recall her ex-husband. This is when she also criticized Newsom’s handling of the Silicon Valley Bank Collapse. She cited reports from The Intercept about Newsom lobbying the White House and the Treasury Department about the bank’s impending bailout, even though he never mentioned he has three private wineries were among the bank’s clients.

Newsom released a statement praising the Biden administration’s decision to intervene on behalf of the bank’s clients after it was taken over by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp, the East Bay Times reports. The White House, Newsom wrote, “acted swiftly and decisively to protect the American economy and strengthen public confidence in our banking system.” However, Newsom left one key thing out: His wineries — Cade, Odette, and PlumpJack — are listed as clients on SVB’s website, per The Intercept.

A spokesperson for Newsom responded to The Intercept’s findings by saying his business and financial holdings are held and managed in a blind trust, as they have been since he was elected governor in 2018.

Guilfoyle didn’t comment on her ex’s response, but she did criticize him for not mentioning his SVB connections in the first place.

“Here’s the problem,” Guilfoyle said. “This is an obvious case of why don’t you disclose? I’m a full disclosure kind of gal,” and added she was once “an owner” in PlumpJack, probably when she and Newsom were married. The winery in Oakville is one of a number of businesses operated by the PlumpJack Group, founded in 1992 by Newsom and his billionaire friend Gordon Getty.

“I sold it. I’m out of it,” Guilfoyle said of the winery. She said it’s “pretty obvious” that her ex-husband should have been more upfront about his financial ties to the bank. “Especially for somebody who wants to run for president, ethically speaking, if you’re going to lobby the White House and the Treasure and you have a vested interest, that needs to be put upfront,” she said.

She and Rubin joked about her ex-husband being an example of “D.P.”— “Democratic Privilege.” Rubin added Newson believes he can “get away with anything no matter how much destruction is wrought.”

Are these two kidding? If you didn’t know any better you’d think they were discussing Donald Trump, who really does believe he can get away with anything. This is a man who very nearly destroyed the country but they’re criticizing Newsom for not mentioning connections to SVB.

Too funny.

And her fiancee is the very example of Republican Privilege, all because of dear old dad. Donald Trump Jr. lives a very luxurious life, jetting around the country whenever he wants, and he and Guilfoyle live in a $10 million mansion in Jupiter, Florida. That she bought.

Really, sometimes this woman is unintentionally hilarious. She obviously doesn’t understand irony.
