‘Layers of Rotten Onion’: Legal Experts Say Ginni Thomas May Be ‘Full Fledged Co-Conspirator to Jan 6th’

For months, the Committee went back and forth on calling Gini Thomas to testify. The Committee had its reasons. They didn’t want to appear too political. It would involve yet another branch of government. And most of the answers to questions could be found in Meadows’s tests and Eastman’s emails.

But one of Eastman’s emails changed all that. Ginni had been sending Eastman emails, but in an email to colleagues in Wisconsin, Eastman addressed whether the SCOTUS would take a Wisconsin case when he made a very peculiar comment that is either a puffed-up lie or Eastman had a source inside the SCOTUS (And both can be true). Tellingly, Eastman knew their case was terrible, just like he knew that January 6th was not legal. According to the NYTimes:

So the odds are not based on the legal merits but an assessment of the justices’ spines, and I understand that there is a heated fight underway,” Mr. Eastman wrote, according to the people briefed on the contents of the email. Referring to the process by which at least four justices are needed to take up a case, he added, “For those willing to do their duty, we should help them by giving them a Wisconsin cert petition to add into the mix.”

So now that Ginni has texts to Meadows – a central player, and emails to Eastman – a central player, and the SCOTUS had cases coming from the Trump campaign and then the investigation after, Ginni is increasingly important with respect to her relationship with both men. Some are saying that she is in real trouble. She looks more and more like a co-conspirator to a coup.

Joyce Vance, also a former U.S. Attorney, now an MSNBC/NBC News legal analyst and law professor notes that John Eastman “clerked for” Justice Clarence Thomas. “It’s always seemed entirely too coincidental that they were both pushing the fake slates of state electors plan.”

The fake electors plan was hatched before the election by a small group. There is no doubt about it. Ginni and Trump-Eastman didn’t magically come up with the same idea on November 6th, 2020.

From Alternet

After Thursday’s revelation that Ginni Thomas, the spouse of a sitting U.S. Supreme Court Justice, and a far right-wing activist in her own right, had been emailing with the author of the Trump “coup memo,” attorney John Eastman, legal experts are weighing in, with some suggesting this latest news changes the legal landscape of the case.

“Forget her marriage,” says former U.S. Attorney Harry Litman, now an LA Times legal affairs columnist.

Litman, who also teaches constitutional law, says the “correspondence between her and John Eastman” makes her look “more and more like a full-fledged potential co-conspirator of her own accord.”

Ginni says she is looking forward to testifying to get the truth out. She might want to bring a lawyer. She really does look like a co-conspirator, and God help her if she was leaking inside knowledge from the court.
