Dan Rather Trashes Fox News for Their Brazen Loyalty to the ‘Party of Trump’: ‘Steady Stream of Hatred, Racism, and Vitriol’

It doesn't help that their "journalists" openly support specific candidates.

Despite the fact that the results of the Pennsylvania Senate primary have yet to be determined, Trump-backed candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz was inspired to thank Sean Hannity and Fox News for their help “behind the scenes.”

That’s something a legitimate journalist doesn’t do.

In fact, that’s something that really irked former CBS anchor Dan Rather. Along with his friend, journalist Elliot Kirschner, Rather wrote an essay on Substack called “Crossing the Line.”

Needless to say, if a reporter at a news organization other than Fox supported a candidate with half as much complicity as Hannity did Dr. Oz, it would be grounds for immediate termination.

Dan Rather is 90 years old and still fighting the good fight.

That’s because real journalists are supposed to be impartial in political matters.

The duo went on to say,

Not surprisingly, at Fox News, Hannity’s actions don’t even earn a slap on the wrist. As a citizen of the United States, Hannity has the right to support and advocate for any candidate for office. But as someone who claims the privileges and esteem of a journalist, this behavior is light years beyond the acceptable.

Dan’s exactly right, of course. Fox News has openly supported Republican candidates. They openly supported Trump, and they have openly supported every candidate he has endorsed.

And maybe no one on the network has done so more than Hannity.

The two were highly critical of the fact that Fox News seems to serve as a campaign arm for the “Trumpian Republican Party.”

The steady stream of hatred, racism, and vitriol emanating from Fox News deserves all the attention it receives. But just as insidious is this inside game and what it says about a media outlet that is a functional arm of the Party of Trump.

They had plenty of blame for the former president as well. They told readers that “The former president has created a landscape where the norms of our democratic institutions have been shattered, and media creations like Dr. Oz and Sean Hannity can conspire to push us further into the abyss.”

Dr. Oz got loots of help from Sean Hannity…which is wrong.

It’s true. There’s not even an iota of space between Fox and the Republicans.

Here is Oz thanking Hannity…and this is just so wrong:
