RNC Official Dodges Questions About Forged Election Certificates: ‘That Was a Long Time Ago!!’

Hey, if you committed a felony against the United States of America, one intended to overthrow a government, or at least steal an election, by forging some of the most important documents submitted to the government, you probably wouldn’t want to talk about it much, either. (Try forging your taxes to get a six-figure return, see what happens. Now think about what awaits someone who wanted a fake president).

A Michigan woman named Kathy Berden doesn’t feel like talking about the whole crazy thing. After all, Berden is a GOP activist and Republican National Committee member who signed the Michigan certificates, the ones that were referred to DOJ yesterday.

To get everyone caught up (because it’s been quite a week). According to The Independent:

The ersatz “certificates of ascertainment” were created and signed by most of the Republican electors whose votes would’ve gone to Mr Trump and Mr. Pence had they won either state. Officials at the National Archives passed copies of the fakes along to the offices of Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, along with notice that the archives would be rejecting them.

Yeah.

So that is a problem for Ms. Berden, who is old enough to know better. She is not one of Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA play dolls. She is an adult who now thinks the best response to a question, along with “no comment,” is:

Asked why she submitted the forgery, Ms Berden replied: “I can’t comment on anything like that. That was a long time ago”.

Ms. Berden attends the Inauguration of Trump in Washington DC.

Ms. Berden looks like she could be a grandmother (The best women on Earth) and thus she knows that when one has growing kids, December of 2020 seems like six weeks ago. After all, it was only three years ago that my 14-year-old daughter was five years old. Or so it seems.

This may seem trivial, timing and all, but it’s not. We mention it because Ms. Berden is going to find out that, while it might’ve seemed like a lifetime ago to her, the court is going to treat it like it happened in the last two hours.
