California MAGA Restaurant Requires Proof Of NON-Vaccination for Diners to Enter

In Huntington Beach, California, a restaurant owner who posted flyers outside the establishment and on social media that required customers to prove that they weren’t vaccinated has found himself faced with a vitriolic groundswell of public anger, ABC7 reports.

“Notice: Proof of being unvaccinated required,” the flyers read. “We have zero tolerance for treasonous, anti-American stupidity. Thank you for pondering.”

Some, like Tanya Scheer, a hairstylist at a nearby barbershop aren’t bothered by the flyers at Basilico’s Pasta e Vino. She said she’s known about the owner’s anti-vax, anti-mask stance for quite a while, adding that the restaurant has maintained this stance since the beginning of the pandemic. And while Scheer said she’s vaccinated, said she doesn’t feel unwelcomed by this.

“No, because you got other places that want you vaccinated to come in,” she said. “No different, right? So no,” she told ABC7.

Other customers were not so blasé. And they let restaurant owner Tony Roman know it on Yelp.

Scores of what I assume will be former customers left cratering reviews and blistering comments, with one person writing “what a slap in the face to all those who have died of COVID-19.” The outrage was so intense, in fact, that Yelp had to temporarily disable posting on the page.

It’s nice to know that some people are at least intelligent and Tony Roman, owner of the restaurant, is getting what he obviously deserves. That sure isn’t how he sees it though, and he clapped back on Facebook.

“Here come the haters, and with it the harassing non-stop phone calls, threats, and hundreds of one-star reviews,” he wrote. “And guess what? We at Basilico’s Pasta e Vino wear it with a badge of honor.”

Then he added:

“We feel blessed to go into battle against all of you in defense of American liberty so bring it on!”

And while Roman and his restaurant practice this foolishness, COVID rates in Orange County are on the upswing. Rates began rising almost as soon as the economy reopened on June 15, when the county’s Health Care Agency reported 191 cases. One month later, that number is nearly 10 times higher.

And as you might expect, the number is higher among ignorant fools (unvaccinated people). The seven-day average case rate per 100,000 for unvaccinated people stood at more than 15 people Monday. This number is five times higher than that of vaccinated people in the Orange County Community, where the number stood at three.

Folks on Twitter have many thoughts about Roman’s nonsensical stance and some are pretty funny. They have a point. Really, why would you eat at a restaurant where you may possibly catch a deadly disease? But I suspect Roman is a Trump supporter, so there’s that.

Here are some videos with that are worth a watch:
