Apparently, the MAGAs are just done with the idea of “laws” and they’re going to follow Trump’s example. The laws matter when they can hurt “enemies” but they never stop a real MAGA (especially Trump) when the law gets in the way of something. Interestingly enough, that’s what dictators do. We find that worth mentioning.

There is no one, and we mean no one, who wants to replace Trump on the 2024 ticket should Trump be “unavailable” than Ron DeSantis. Ron DeSantis knows he needs to be Florida Man Trump.

Presently, an entry-level requirement for a legitimate MAGA man is a disdain for the vaccine that Trump regularly says he, personally, ensured was done at lightning speed. But Joe Biden is president now. Joe Biden wants the country vaccinated. Biden wants the country back to normal.

And so MAGAs generally oppose vaccinations and refuse to be vaccinated. Of course, some have enough sense to get vaccinated, but the population opposed to vaccinations is almost exclusively MAGA. Thus it is that any talk about vaccine “passports” is an affront to everything MAGAs have ever believed, e.g. they control “their” country.

The problem for the MAGAs is that the “vaccine passports” aren’t really a government thing. No one is requiring vaccine passports to get into Yellowstone or other federal property. No, vaccine passports might become a thing for entities like United Airlines, Chilis, the Miami Dolphins, etc. etc. These are the entities that want proof of vaccination. They want their customers back! And they can do it if it’s totally safe.

Obviously, to the MAGAs, this is clearly unconstitutional. That is ridiculous.

They must never have seen signs like “No shirt, no shoes, no service.” Do people have a right to enter with bare feet? Doesn’t that make fitness centers that are exclusively women only (so no one’s staring at women like a piece of meat while working out) … doesn’t that make them unconstitutional?

No. None of that sh*t is unconstitutional because private businesses can reject anyone they want provided it is not based on race, religion, LGTBQ, etc.

DeSantis doesn’t care and he’s getting lit up. From Rawstory with help from the Miami Herald:

To make matters worse, DeSantis also placed a ban on COVID vaccine passports in his state. “Businesses in Florida are prohibited from requiring patrons or customers to provide any documentation certifying COVID-19 vaccination or post-transmission recovery to gain access to, entry upon, or service from the business,” the governor’s order stated…

The board’s critical assessment follows a number of other scathing reactions to DeSantis’ executive order banning vaccine passports. From lawmakers to cruise line CEOs, DeSantis has faced opposition from many different angles.

Maybe DeSantis can ban vaccine passports at the ports because they are government-controlled, either federal or state, depending on who is arguing what. But his order that vaccine passports are illegal in his state? It’s the most ridiculous MAGA move we’ve seen yet.

Of course, it is. It is Ron DeSantis, playing Donald Trump. Admittedly, he’s doing a pretty good job at it. That is the problem.
