George P. Bush is Selling Out His Own Family to Get the Support of Trump, ‘Jeb is Heartbroken’

The last presidential vote George H.W. Bush ever cast for president was for Hillary Rodham Clinton. In a sense, Sr. Bush was a patriot. He put his country far ahead of his party. We guarantee that for two decades, George H.W. Bush would be irate at anyone suggesting that he would vote for… Hillary Clinton over the Republican! We also guarantee that H.W. Bush knew what would happen if Trump ever acquired power.

Barbara Bush never mentioned who she voted for. Everyone knew. Barbara was no fool. We even liked Barbara as First Lady. Who didn’t? She was one of the modern women that invented modern women. She knew she was supposed to keep her mouth shut and look pretty. Instead, she challenged everything. We suspect that the son and his wife, Laura Bush (whom we also liked, a lot) voted for Hillary or didn’t vote at all. Trump was vicious toward George’s brother Jeb and if there one thing we know, the Bush’s stick together.

Until now. That’s what Trump can do. Divide the indivisible.

Jeb’s son, George P. is climbing his way up the political arena and he’s entering it in the only lane available to Republicans. He’s on the MAGA bus. Yes, Jeb is proud of his son. But it sure sounds like he isn’t quite that proud. He’s not proud enough to show his face at the most important event.

From Mediaite:

[George P. ] Bush’s campaign launch was notable in at least two ways: the lack of other Bushes and the direct appeal to former President Donald Trump. Neither of Bush’s parents, Jeb or Columba Bush, were present at his announcement speech, nor was his presidential uncle GWB. Jeb and Columba had attended a number of his previous campaign events. This reporter spoke with Jeb at George P.’s 2018 election night party in March 2018, and he had made comments about being a proud father seeing his son succeed.

Proud fathers show up when proud of their son, especially on special occasions when it would mean everything to the son to have his father present. Note that in 2018, Jeb only said he was proud of his son “succeeding” – nothing about his talent or direction.

One almost thinks that it might make more sense, and make his family prouder, if George P. ran as a Democrat, or even an independent. It would be a statement, “Country over party, always.” But no. This is modern Republicanism we’re talking about. Trump over party, party over country.

But there’s more. It’s not just biological family. The political family won’t touch George P., either (Can’t the Bush’s name some son’s Steve, Tom, Ray, or Al? Something!  For the love of god?). No, the Trump political family isn’t going with George P., either:

Another noteworthy absence from George P. Bush’s campaign is other Bush alumni. Karl Rove, who served as W’s chief of staff, continues to advise GOP campaigns from his Austin-based consulting firm, but he is not involved in GPB’s AG campaign, and other recognizable names of still-active Republican consultants who worked for other Bushes have not been hired either.

It is tough to hire people that sneer and spit when one offers them the job.

It is somewhat amusing that Trump has even managed to tear apart a family so Republican that they tore a lot of the country apart. (Remember Katrina?) But we remember, for one week and one week only, George W. Bush was brilliant. We seriously doubt that any president could’ve handled the week after 9-11 better than George W. Bush. “Islam is a religion of peace.” Imagine Trump’s reaction. It doesn’t make anything that happened afterward forgivable. It does mean that the Bush’s, all of them, except one, can put country over party.

George P. is going to be awfully lonely on the campaign trail. He might even be sad that grandma and grandpa would not be proud. The Bush’s are also known for their long memories.
