Stats Show That Trump’s New ‘Blog’ is a Useless and Humiliating Failure

It’s been several months since former President Donald Trump was banned from most social media platforms, but a week ago he returned to the internet with a new blog “From The Desk of Donald J. Trump,” where he can rant unimpeded.

Surprisingly, however, it looks like no one wants to hear from him, NBC News reports. Social media data suggests the blog is floundering, drawing a markedly smaller audience than his formerly powerful social media accounts. That’s according to engagement data compiled by BuzzSumo, a firm that specializes in analyzing social media data. While Trump may still be powerful politically, the data suggests his the strength of his online influence is still dependent on returning to Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.

His blog is limited in other ways as well. Readers can’t comment or engage with the posts, other than to share them to other platforms — something that the data notes happen rarely.

So far, From The Desk of Donald J. Trump has attracted just over 212,000 engagements, which BuzzSumo reports are mostly backlinks and social interactions — including likes, shares, and comments received over Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Reddit. This is a sizable change from before the ban when one single Trump tweet was typically liked and retweeted thousands upon thousands of times.

Most of the blog posts are in the form of statements that are also emailed to supporters. Trump is, of course, up to his usual shenanigans, targeting his political enemies and endorsing his sycophants, and continuing to push misinformation and conspiracy theories, as well as his opinion on whatever happens to be news that day.

I find it exhilarating that these bans have prevented Trump from communicating and spreading more deceit to his 88 million followers on Twitter, his 32 million on Facebook, and 24 million on Instagram. That, and an additional three million YouTube followers. His videos racked up millions of views. Twitter has even taken such recent steps as to ban an account that was sharing messages from Trump’s website.

Way to go Twitter! Yay!

Trump wants to rant and no one wants to listen. It’s a thing of the past and I’m not the least bit sad, are you?
