QAnon Lawyer Lin Wood Claims Trump Has Backchannel to Authorize Nuclear Strikes

Lin Wood believes that Donald Trump is basically still president, if not necessarily the guy who signs his name on things called laws, or the guy that lives in the White House, speaks for the United States to foreign dignitaries, maybe not all that silly stuff “for show,” but Trump is still the real president if things get sticky. Put it this way, if the entire world falls apart, as many Christian fundamentalists believe is happening right now, the military isn’t calling Joe Biden, get it?

Or at least that’s what Lin Wood “gets” and said as much during an event in Myrtle Beach, where he continues his campaign to become the next South Carolina Republican Party chair. Evidently, the key to becoming the Republican party chair is a willingness to remain fully divorced from all reality in any situation in which a room full of people want their own reality created.

With respect to rooms full of MAGAs, they want to hear someone create a new version of how Trump won, and or that he is still president:

“He won the election. Donald J. Trump is still the guy the military will call for the code if they need a first strike. Joe Biden is not the president of the United States.”

Interesting. That is not what we’ve heard military people say. But maybe they’re being wily and coy about it all. And then, according to Crooks and Liars, it got even crazier:

“Amen,” a woman in the audience replied. “Why can’t somebody stop it? This is driving me crazy. Why doesn’t somebody do something?”

Wood, however, argued that Trump’s loss exposed problems in the election system which “would have never been fixed.”

Right. We would have just let people keep on voting. Now, they’ve got that “fixed.”

“This is about God,” he said. “God is getting ready to clean up this world and he’s got a lot of cleaning up to do in America. So we all want Trump to come back, yes, because some things are going to have to happen.”

Maybe God can call Trump home? Not according to Wood:

“My own personal belief is he signed the insurrection act,” Wood insisted. “Nobody knows. He’s not going to tell anybody. I think the military is prepared to act if we have a foreign threat or an internal threat that can’t be handled by the police or National Guard. And we’re going to allow what appears to be continuity of government… because he’s cleaning things up.”

After everything Qanon ever predicted, we’re back to Donald Trump “cleaning things up” behind the scenes? Sigh.

Jesus, these people.
