Trump’s Crowd Roars in Laughter While He Mocked Michelle Obama’s Looks in Disgusting Speech

Now things are getting real. You go after Michelle, we come after you.

Everyone has read about Trump’s speech to the RNC bigwig soiree this weekend, nominally slated to take place at a luxury hotel in Palm Beach. But Trump extorted the RNC into having the big dinner at Mar-a-Lago because money, that’s why. And because he could, that’s also why. His grip is still that strong.

As we reported yesterday (along with every other news outlet in existence) Trump aired his grievances against Mitch McConnell, which shouldn’t come as a surprise. Trump never forgets and never forgives, “Dumb son of a b*tch, Mitch,” is the reward McConnell got for three SCOTUS justices and two not-guilty verdicts in impeachments.

And then something expected happened, according to the Washington Post, who obtained a tape of Trump’s speech. Trump went after the most popular person on earth, Michelle Obama, which in every other crowd is a bad idea:

But in prosecuting that grievance, Trump made a somewhat uncharacteristic comment about Michelle Obama — of whom he has often steered clear — while also using her husband’s middle name in a suggestive way.

“Oprah Winfrey camped out in Atlanta” in support of Kemp’s 2018 opponent Stacey Abrams, Trump claimed, wrongly saying that Winfrey was there for “months.”

Trump added: “Barack Hussein Obama and the very beautiful Michelle Obama were there for … ”

At this point, the audience laughed uproariously. Michelle Obama’s appearance has often served as a punchline in some portions of the conservative Internet.

Only a “punchline” for the racists. Every single non-racist man – and many a woman – is hopelessly in love with Michelle Obama and not just because she’s one of the most beautiful women to ever grace the planet, she’s also smarter than four of us, funny, cool, and loves to garden. What more can anyone want in a woman, or man?

In fact, the racists probably went overboard primarily because they know Michelle is drop-dead gorgeous and infinitely cooler than their wives. And Donald Trump needs to STFU about “beautiful women,” considering he’s the one president of which we know that’s regularly had to pay for it. (And a special hello to Matt Gaetz!)

The Post helpfully notes (as if this isn’t obvious): Trump has a history of disparaging the appearances of women he doesn’t like. It was also an odd attack for another reason: Michelle Obama didn’t actually campaign for Abrams. But Trump must have figured that she did, after all, they’re both black and who can tell the difference, right, Trump?

None of this was “odd” at all. Trump wanted to slip some not-so-sly racism in there without risking the “obvious-express” racism. So he referenced the “beautiful” woman that many on the racist right referred to as a “gorilla.” He knew exactly what he was doing and it is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Trump.

Bill Kristol puts it perfectly:
