Hunter Biden Has a Message for Donald Trump’s Children and It’s Perfect

Before and after the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump did everything he could to undermine his Democratic adversary Joe Biden, even to the point of maligning his son Hunter Biden at every opportunity, Raw Story reports. Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr. and his brother Eric, were usually the ones involved in the verbal hit-and-runs, so one can’t necessarily blame Hunter Biden for returning the favor in his book Beautiful Things.

And Vanity Fair writer Bess Levin is on hand for the occasion. Whereupon she noted the hypocrisy of the situation.

“Yes, Don and Eric, who have spent nearly their entire adult lives working for the Trump Organization, which was co-founded by their grandfather and is owned by their dad. Yes, Don and Eric, who are reportedly both worth $25 million apiece — virtually all of which can be attributed to their father’s company,” she writes.

Levin singled out Don Jr.’s stumbling efforts in 2006 to manage the Trump mortgage company, which ultimately crashed and burned less than a year later. Brother Eric, who manages the Trump winery, doesn’t seem to be faring much better, especially since the winery is earning reviews like “Welch’s grape jelly with alcohol.”

Levin recalled the time that Don Jr. proclaimed “I wish my name was Hunter Biden! I could go abroad and make millions off my father’s presidency. I’d be a really rich guy.”

“Why is it that every family goes into politics and enriches themselves? We’re the only family — we stopped doing deals when my father became [President]…. Guess what? All of these kids, they started doing deals when their families went into politics, and it’s sickening,” Eric Trump whined on Fox News.

But too many people could see the hypocrisy of these attacks, which fell flat. As Levin notes, Trump’s kids continued to do business as usual by using dear old dad’s position to fatten the family larder.

Then Don Jr. hit on another idea: he’d debate Hunter Biden and the two would release their taxes. As long as someone ponied up $50,000, that is. Right about the same time dear old dad hadn’t revealed his own taxes, something he’d promised Americans he would do. Trump also didn’t show up for the second presidential debate, which was done in a town hall format, Raw Story reports.¿ʔ

But now that the campaign is over, Hunter Biden has his own message for Trump’s kids, Levin writes.

“The younger Biden son begins by referencing Team Trump’s attacks on him for the work he did abroad, ‘even as Trump’s own children had pocketed millions in China and Russia,'” Levin cited. “At one point he calls out Don Jr. and Eric for getting rich solely thanks to their dad whereas Hunter writes, ‘I’ve worked for someone other than my father, rose and fell on my own.’ While acknowledging his own privilege — ‘there’s no question my last name was a coveted credential,’ he says — he takes aim at the ex-president’s adult children for suggesting they’re self-made individuals who didn’t reap the benefits of their family name. ‘Do you think if any of the Trump children ever tried to get a job outside of their father’s business that his name wouldn’t figure into the calculation? My response has always been to work harder so that my accomplishments stand on their own.”

Fortunately, now that Trump is no longer president (I thought I’d never see the day when I’d have a chance to write this) maybe all the sniping will die down. The Trump family being who they are will continue to be as sneaky as ever but at least we won’t have to deal with them anymore.
