Arrested Capitol Rioter Thought Pence Resigned and JFK, Jr. Would Be Sworn in as VP on Jan 6th

A Trump-supporting Idaho woman who took part in the Capitol riots on Jan. 6 has been arrested and has been “taken into custody without incident” by Homeland Security Investigations officials, the Boise Police Department, and members of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, Raw Story reports.

Yvonne St Cyr, 53, has been charged with “Knowingly Entering Or Remaining in any Restricted Building On Capitol Grounds Without Lawful Authority and Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct on Capitol Grounds. Both charges are misdemeanors.

In a Facebook video that was posted five days before the attack, St. Cyr claims she heard then Vice-President Mike Pence had resigned, which is completely untrue.

“If Pence resigned, what if JFK Jr. is gonna be sworn in as the Vice President on [Jan. 6], and I will be there to see it and you can all pound sand because I am telling you, he is alive,” she said, referring to former President John F. Kennedy’s son, who was killed in a plane crash in 1999.

St. Cyr faces as much as a year and six months in prison.

FBI Special Agent Matthew Gano noted in a criminal complaint:

“In a live-streamed video, St. Cyr filmed the destruction of an office window from within the Capitol and continued to record herself standing in the window and shouting at the crowd located on the West side of the Capitol grounds.”

In a live video following the riots, St Cyr talks about breaching the Capitol and discusses her belief in the QAnon conspiracy theory.

“That election was stolen, 100 percent, without a doubt,” she says in the video. “There’s tons of evidence. That’s why we stormed the Capitol because we didn’t lose, they stole this election. And if we don’t fight, then we lose everything.”

I’ve written on the QAnon conspiracy theory numerous times, but that part about JFK Jr. still being alive is a new one. As someone who has worked with the mentally ill before, it appears to me St Cyr is clearly mentally ill, and frankly, I’m kind of sad for her. She’s clearly easily influenced and this makes me remember the days of working with people who fought and sometimes lost battles with their inner demons.

If she winds up being convicted I hope she receives the help she obviously needs.
