‘The Daily Show’ Reminds Kayleigh McEnany Of Her Absolutely Horrible COVID Prediction From February 2020

During her short term as White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany made some pretty astounding predictions, many of which fell pretty wide of the mark. This is especially true exactly one year ago today when she declared coronavirus isn’t going to be a big deal.

I think we know by now how that actually went, and so does The Daily Show, which decided to put her dumb remarks on blast just to remind us that we’re lucky not to have to deal with her anymore.

And thanks to Uproxx, we can now reflect on what she told Fox Business host Trish Regan on February 25, 2020.

“This president will always put America first, he will always protect American citizens,” she said. “We will not see diseases like coronavirus come here, we will not see terrorism, and isn’t that refreshing when contrasting it with the awful presidency of Barack Obama?”

Now that folks, is a real knee-slapper. And the brilliant people who produce The Daily Show know this too, so they set McEnany’s wild lies and misinformation to music.

“One year ago today, Kayleigh McEnany made a really bad COVID prediction, but what’s really special is how she also made a bad terrorism prediction in the same sentence,” the iconic Comedy Central program noted in a tweet.

The clip also included a montage of her claims and contrasted this with what actually happened, beginning with: “We will not see diseases like the coronavirus come here,” and ending with: “500,000 Americans have now been killed by COVID” and “major breaking news of a coup attempt as a pro-Trump mob rioters invaded the U.S. Capitol.”

Not well-played, Kayleigh. Not well-played.

Her complaints about Obama’s “awful” presidency were followed by a snippet of Lou Dobbs complaining about Obama’s infamous tan suit and he framed the incident by claiming that Democrats are “so desperate because of these low poll numbers, they’re willing to do anything.”

How funny is it that one year later, McEnany still can’t find work and Dobbs is out of a job?
