Trump Faces His Ultimate Nightmare: PR Executive Says Trump’s ‘Brand’ is Worthless Now

It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure out that Trump’s going to go through some things.

It is difficult to feel much schadenfreude right now, not after a terrifying attempt at insurrection and a wounded nation just barely hobbling along, still very much in danger from the fascist movement on the Right. But we can try.

How much ass does irony kick when one realizes that Trump got into the presidential race without any expectation of winning, but with the assumption that he’d revitalize his brand? Were that not enough, he won, and saw a chance to both make money off the presidency and ensure that his brand was immortalized in gold.

Yeah, not so much, now. Link:

As Bloomberg’s Tina Davis writes, “Trump has long loved to slap his name on things … but, as far as mainstream customers go, that ship likely sailed a long time ago.”

True. But people that can afford pretty big boats to cruise around in the water probably have enough disposable income that it would have been worth it to remain in their good graces. Some will still stay loyal, but a lot will drop off, from peer pressure if nothing else.

“The brand is irreparably stained,” explained Crenshaw before adding “I really don’t see any viability,” when it comes to manufacturers or retailers partnering with the Trump family — including daughter Ivanka who shuttered her own clothing line after retailers began dropping it.

Again, it’s not genius insight but it’s not wrong to hear it from professionals, either.

“Ivanka may find new markets for her wares abroad — the Chinese government awarded her dozens of trademarks during her father’s time in office, many of which seemed suspiciously timed with Trump administration foreign policy decisions, watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington has pointed out.”

Yes. We’ve noted the same dynamic. It is all a giant grease fire right now and most of them are wiped out completely. Ivanka is the only one with a puncher’s chance. Sex sells, but mostly abroad, where they don’t know her. And she is very pretty, a testament to the finest work one can afford from the American College of Plastic Surgeons.

Regardless, the real irony sticks to the “real one.” The kids measured themselves and their worth through their father’s attention. Money was Dad’s only measure. He will never admit that he lost to Biden but he will be forced to confront the loss of his identity. It will be right there on the balance slip when he uses his debit card. “Insufficient funds.”

It will be the deepest two word poem that ever slipped out of a machine.
