This is not how this works!

In the United States, we have elections. The Supreme Court doesn’t decide who gets to be president – despite what Trump said yesterday. And the president doesn’t get to decide if the election was “free and fair enough” so as to “count,” which is essentially Trump’s position.

We all know what this means because Trump has flat told us. The only way he believes he can “lose” the election is if it is “rigged.” Ergo, if Trump loses the election, it’s because it wasn’t free and fair. Thus, he won’t concede. He’ll take it to the Supreme Court, who – he thinks – will declare him Supreme leader. (And we damn well fear that he might be right about that).

But Eric says don’t worry about it. Eric says that his dad is full of shit and that his dad WILL concede peacefully to a free and fair election, but only IF, Biden blows Trump so out of the water that even attempting to say “rigged!” is more problematic to Trump’s health and safety than just bowing out.

You will note that nowhere in the constitution does it say that the winner is the guy who gets 160 more votes in the electoral college, otherwise the winner is declared by Republicans at various levels of government – who must be “fair.”

It is hard to believe we are in this situation and yet it’s even more impossible to believe that it could be any other way. We have YET to see Trump respect a law that restrains what he really wants to do. This is the man who told the House to get bent when it issued subpoenas to witnesses from the White House over a horrific scandal … having to do with screwing over the election! This is the man who told the jury foreman – McConnell – how to conduct his trial, i.e. “there will be no witnesses talking shit about what happened, capisce?”

So of course Trump will add “the Trump doctrine” to U.S. Presidential elections. The only way to get a peaceful transition of power is to let me win, or beat me so badly that I’m terrified to scream rigged and I slink out of the White House in the middle of the night. He thinks we keep score in elections the way he does in golf – “close enough, I win, fcker” If he gets “close enough” to Biden, he wins!

It’s not funny, but morbid humor is a coping mechanism, and Eric is just stupid enough to tell us the truth.
