Sad Trump Whines, ‘Nobody Likes Me,’ and People Quickly Remind Him Why

President Donald Trump is not happy that Dr. Anthony Fauci has a higher approval rating over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic than he does. He admitted this during a Tuesday press conference after being asked why he retweeted posts that accused Fauci, who’s the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, of misleading the American public about a treatment for the virus, according to Business Insider.

“I get along with him very well, and I agree with a lot of what he’s said,” Trump added. But he also said he and his administration should enjoy that popularity as well.

“It’s interesting. He’s got a very good approval rating. And I like that, it’s good,” Trump said. “Because remember, he’s working for this administration. He’s working with us. We could have gotten other people.”

So in other words, Trump wants Fauci to be a brown-noser, something the respected epidemiologist certainly isn’t. And the good doctor has told Trump like it is and been bluntly correct in warning people about the deadly situation we’re all in. In no way is this man a whining Trump sycophant.

And that doesn’t sit well with the President, who’s acting like his administration somehow did Fauci a huge favor by making him a member of the coronavirus task force.

“We could have gotten somebody else,” Trump said. “It didn’t have to be Fauci. He’s working with our administration. And for the most part, we’ve done pretty much what he and others — Dr. Birx and others, who are terrific — have recommended.”

Unsurprisingly, Trump is clueless as to why he isn’t as popular as Fauci.

“And he’s got this high approval rating, so why don’t I have a high approval rating with respect and admiration — and the administration — with respect to the virus?”

OMD (oh my dog). I can’t even here. Maybe he should ask his current favorite doctor, Stella Immanuel, who believes some medical conditions are caused by reptilian DNA and has an ax to grind with Facebook.

Trump has tried to undermine Fauci on some occasions, and yet expresses confidence in Immanuel.

But at Tuesday’s press conference, Trump wasn’t done feeling sorry for himself.

“So it is sort of curious: A man works for us, with us, very closely, Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx also, highly thought of. And yet their highly thought of, but nobody likes me. It can only be my personality (well he’s not wrong there, anyway) that’s all.”

And he retweeted a tweet, claiming Fauci had “misled the American public on many issues,” including the effectiveness of the drug hydroxychloroquine. Trump is continuing to beat this dead horse even though numerous health experts have debunked his hydroxychloroquine nonsense. Fauci has since pushed back, noting in a Tuesday interview with ABC News, saying “I have not been misleading the American public under any circumstances.”

I’ve included the tweet below so you can watch Dr. Fauci’s response. And let’s hope election day puts a stop to this ridiculousness.

But the good people of Twitter had to pipe in, of course, with a few reasons why Trump is so unliked:
