Both Trump and Melania Refuse to Wear Masks When Greeting Elderly Korean War Veterans

Trump visited the Korean War Memorial today, a beautiful memorial on the Mall in Washington. He also greeted some veterans of that war, which ended almost 70 years ago in 1953, meaning that any veteran of that war must be at least 85 years old. When Trump met with a group of older men, to whom our country owes a huge debt of gratitude, Trump couldn’t even extend the courtesy of wearing a mask.

In case we haven’t accepted it up until now – the day with the highest number of reported cases in the U.S. –  there is no circumstance in which Trump will wear a mask, none. He reportedly wore one in Michigan at a visit to an auto plant, but he didn’t wear it in front of the cameras and did it to comply with plant rules. Anywhere else? Trump is going to appear as he fcking well wants to appear. Period.

So, f-you, Korean War veterans, says Trump:

As we reported yesterday, it is difficult to see how Trump will make it to November without getting COVID. Eight members of the White House advance team to Oklahoma tested positive, two-dozen Secret Service members are going to have to quarantine for the next 14 days, we already know that Trump’s steward tested positive once. The Secret Service is the best in the world in testing and protecting a president, but one can only protect the reckless for so long, no security service is perfect. (And did you notice that Trump doesn’t see testing at the White House as a double-edged sword? No, it is a very good thing at the White House).

Trump could have COVID right now. But more importantly, Trump sets an example for others – the Karens that “can’t breathe” – and Trump’s refusal to wear a mask is exacerbating the problem. Today, Trump’s example in front of some of the nation’s finest people at the end of their long lives, was “f-you,” I’ll do what I want.

Maybe he doesn’t want to smear the make-up.
