Trump is Being Obliterated Online For His Disgusting Attacks on John McCain, ‘A Vile Human Being’

Donald Trump just can’t stop feuding with John McCain.

On Saturday, Trump attacked the late Republican senator from Arizona, who died last August, on Twitter for his role in the spread of the Steele Dossier, a series of memos written by a former British spy in 2016 that tied many in the Trump presidential campaign, including Trump himself, to collusion with Russia.

Trump quote-tweeted Ken Starr, the independent counsel who investigated then-President Bill Clinton, after Starr called the dossier a “very dark stain” on McCain’s legacy. Trump also criticized McCain’s vote against repealing Obamacare in 2017.

Trump has had a mostly one-sided feud with McCain that dates back several years. McCain’s daughter, Meghan, responded to Trump, saying that “no one will ever love you” the way people loved her father.

Unfortunately, a good night’s sleep apparently didn’t help Trump forget about McCain. The president continued targeting the former Republican presidential nominee on Twitter on Sunday morning.

McCain’s family and closest friends, most representing the president’s own party, came to his defense in the wake of Trump’s renewed attacks.

“No one will ever love you the way they loved my father….” McCain’s daughter, Meghan, tweeted Saturday.

“I wish I had been given more Saturday’s with him,” she added. “Maybe spend yours with your family instead of on twitter obsessing over mine?”

Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of McCain’s closest friends in the Senate and now one of the president’s most reliable allies in Congress, defended his former colleague in a pair of tweets on Sunday.

“He stepped forward to risk his life for his country, served honorably under difficult circumstances, and was one of the most consequential senators in the history of the body,” Graham said. “Nothing about his service will ever be changed or diminished.”

Others felt the same, with tweets coming from both the right and the left:
