Donald Trump says his planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will take place in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The president tweeted the location on Friday, saying his representatives had just left North Korea after a “productive meeting” on the Feb. 27-28 summit.
Trump added: “I look forward to seeing Chairman Kim & advancing the cause of peace!”

Trump then tweeted praise for the murderous dictator, saying, “North Korea, under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, will become a great Economic Powerhouse. He may surprise some but he won’t surprise me, because I have gotten to know him & fully understand how capable he is. North Korea will become a different kind of Rocket – an Economic one!”

Trump has in the past emphasized the economic benefits that could await North Korea if Washington and Pyongyang are able to reach a denuclearization deal, which would likely include the lifting of stringent U.S. sanctions.
Trump and Kim first met in June 2018 at a summit in Singapore to begin negotiating North Korea’s denuclearization. The president declared the meeting a success, saying there was “no longer a Nuclear threat from North Korea.”
Twitter was sickened:
Why do you praise and legitimize brutal dictators?

Authoritarian dictators care very little for the economic wealth of their people, they desire only to maintain their power.
This generally requires the disempowerment of any middle class.
Kim has no motivation to improve North Korea's economy.
Trump doesn't understand this. https://t.co/mbirQ0TJi2

I thought this was the parody account. It’s actually the real account. Our president thinks that North Korea is going to stop committing human rights violations and become an economic powerhouse even though it has almost no resources. https://t.co/1n3G7F3S8A

Prison gulags, political enemy executions, indoctrination machines, outlawing Christianity, systematic starvation – just a list of what is happening in North Korea under Kim Jong Un https://t.co/rQ9LE3GrZT
