Trump Insanely Claims California’s Bullet Train Is ‘Hundreds Of Times More Expensive’ Than His Wall
Donald Trump slammed Democratic states who have filed a lawsuit to block his declaration of a national emergency in federal court, mocking the “Open Border Democrats” on Twitter for their lawsuit.
In a series of tweets, Trump lashed out at California’s state leadership over a downgraded high-speed rail plan and the lawsuit challenging his legal rationale for declaring an emergency over illegal border crossings.
“As I predicted, 16 cities, led mostly by Open Border Democrats and the Radical Left, have filed a lawsuit in, of course, the 9th Circuit! California, the state that has wasted billions of dollars on their out of control Fast Train, with no hope of completion, seems in charge!” Trump wrote.

“The failed Fast Train project in California, where the cost overruns are becoming world record setting, is hundreds of times more expensive than the desperately needed Wall!” he added in a second tweet.

His tweets referenced California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s announcement earlier this month that California would scale back plans to build a high-speed rail line connecting San Francisco and Los Angeles, while refusing to return government funding for the project that Newsom says will still be used on the system.
Twitter had some thoughts:
1. The project isn't failed. California is spending the money exactly as directed in the agreement, the tracks are being laid.
2. YOU, of all people, have some nerve talking about failed projects costing recording setting amounts of money, Trump Taj Mahal Casino ring a bell? https://t.co/R5WNi2crhi

No it isn't, that $5 billion you were asking for was to start what would have been a project ending in at least $25 billion for a wall. It would provide no tangible economic advantage and do damage to the environment, thus costing taxpayers further. https://t.co/9sOT0gVeTu
