Trump Goes Golfing For the Third Day in a Row Since Declaring National Emergency on Border

Donald Trump kicked off Presidents Day at his private golf course in West Palm Beach, Fla., Monday morning, hitting the greens for the third day in a row since declaring a national emergency at the southern border.

Trump’s motorcade arrived at Trump International Golf Club just before 8:50 a.m, on par with his arrival times the past few days. The course is a 15-minute drive from his Mar-a-Lago resort.

He golfed both weekend days, including six hours on Saturday.

George Conway, husband to White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, joked Sunday that the golf outing was an “emergency round.”

The Monday tour marks the 159th time the president has visited a golf course since his inauguration in January 2017, according to Trump Golf Count. Another count states it is his 172nd visit.

Following his Saturday visit, he met with members of China’s trade delegation at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Trump announced Friday plans to use $6.6 billion in previously appropriated funding to build 234 more miles of barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border as part of the national emergency order. Democrats and activist groups have vowed to challenge his emergency declaration in court.

Others on Twitter were quick to call out the hypocrisy:
