Sen. Dianne Feinstein Facing Backlash After Chewing Out Kids Over Green New Deal, ‘I Know What I’m Doing!’

A group of children from the Sunrise Movement visited Sen. Dianne Feinstein‘s office to talk about how climate change will impact their lives and encourage her to support Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez‘s New Green Deal.

It did not go very well.

In a video posted by the Sunrise Movement on Friday, she told the kids: “I’ve been doing this for 30 years… You come in here and say it has to be my way or the highway.”

“I don’t respond to that,” she then said. “I know what I’m doing. Maybe people should listen a little bit.”

The group, which included elementary age kids to teens, told Feinstein that their generation will bear the brunt of today’s politicians’ decisions on climate change.

Feinstein asked one young activist how old they are––16––before saying: “Well, you didn’t vote for me.”

The reaction on Twitter was strong and swift.
