Patriots Player Being Attacked by MAGA Lunatics After He Declines White House Visit with Trump

New England Patriots safety Duron Harmon is refusing to go to Trump’s White House after his team won the Super Bowl, and the Make America Great Again crazies are outraged.

Harmon told Sports Illustrated on Thursday, “I probably won’t go. I’m not going. I did not go last time. We all know why. I just feel like, for what he believes and what he says, it doesn’t sit well with me, so there’s no point in going there. It would be fake to shake his hand.”

Now, after the Patriots won, he told TMZ, “Nah, man. They don’t want me in the White House.” However, the 28-year-old added, “Hey, Obama, come holler at me, man. We love you over here.” This is Harmon’s third Super Bowl title in his career.

Harmon has been attacked on Twitter with comments like, “Who cares you can all go to hell. Ungrateful ‘SOB.‘”

There is also this gem, “You can’t be a Christian and racist at the same time! Shunning the President for Obama proves that you’re racist!”

And lest we forget this Fox News talking point from a user titled AProudAmerican (@nds1776), “It’s unfortunate that you’re so eager to meet the 1st black president who did literally NOTHING for the black community but made sure he somehow walks away a multi-millionaire from a public servant salary. Too bad you don’t know how that works. Too bad race is what matters to you.”

Harmon responded on Twitter with, “Oh y’all big maddddddd.”

Multiple New England Patriots players have already made it clear they’re not interested in visiting the White House should Trump extend an invitation after their win on Sunday.

Defensive back Devin McCourty told the Associated Press that he would not join the Patriots on the trip. His brother and teammate, Jason McCourty, had similar feelings.

“I haven’t thought about it, but I highly doubt it,” Jason told the Associated Press on Monday, adding that there was “virtually zero chance he would go.”

It’s no guarantee that the Patriots will go to the White House to celebrate the win at all. The team did visit Trump at the White House after their Super Bowl win two years ago, but several players, including Tom Brady, did not attend. The Philadelphia Eagles were disinvited to the White House after their Super Bowl win last year after it was learned that the majority of the team was not planning on attending.

Clemson visited Trump in the White House last month after its College Football Playoff win over Alabama, however the Tigers were served fast food. Just 15 of the 57 black players on the roster actually made the trip, too.

The Golden State Warriors have also skipped the White House visit after winning championships in each of the last two years. Coach Steve Kerr has been very vocal in his opposition of Trump, and multiple players on the team have followed suit.

In January, however, the team celebrated with former President Barack Obama before its game against the Washington Wizards in D.C. instead. The Warriors also visited with Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, who is a big Draymond Green fan, after the game.
