Don Jr. Thinks His Father Joking About Native American Genocide is ‘Savage’ — Twitter is Disgusted

Donald Trump took to Twitter after Senator Elizabeth Warren officially launched her 2020 presidential campaign on Saturday to continue mocking her for her claim of Native American ancestry. In the process, he appeared to joke about the Trail of Tears as well, and his son Don Jr. decided to insert himself into the controversy.

“President” Trump tweeted on Saturday, “Today Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to by me as Pocahontas, joined the race for President. Will she run as our first Native American presidential candidate, or has she decided that after 32 years, this is not playing so well anymore? See you on the campaign TRAIL, Liz!”

Some Trump supporters argued that the president was simply referring to the campaign trail, not referring to the many indigenous people who died after being forced to leave their ancestral lands on the East Coast of the United States in the Indian Removal Act of 1830.

But then Donald Trump Jr. posted a screenshot of writer Michael Malice’s tweet, which played up the possible Trail of Tears reference.

“The Native American genocide continues with another murder by the president,” Malice wrote. The first son replied with, “Savage!!! Love my President.”

The nonprofit United to End Genocide estimates that there were about 10 million Native Americans before European settlement and just 300,000 left by 1900.

The president’s taunts of Warren’s ethnicity center around her claims of holding Native American ancestry. The senator took a DNA test last year that showed she was overwhelmingly European, but it did support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor in her pedigree six to 10 generations ago.
