Trump Says He’s Serving Clemson Football Team ‘McDonald’s and Burger King,’ ‘I Assume That’s Their Favorite!’

Donald Trump announced on Monday that the White House will serve food from fast food chains McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King and pizza to the national champion Clemson Tigers during the football team’s visit later in the day.

“I really mean it,” Trump told reporters outside the White House. “It will be interesting. And I would think that’s their favorite food.”

Trump is scheduled to participate in a public event with the team at 6:30 p.m. in the East Room of the White House. He said their visit is dependent on the weather after the Washington, D.C., area received several inches of snow over the weekend.

Monday will mark the second time the Clemson University football team will visit Trump at the White House. The team also made the trip following its national championship victory in 2017.

Clemson defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide in this year’s national title game, blowing out the defending champions, 44-16.
