Trump Just Suggested That Grocery Stores Will Loan Money to Federal Workers Who Can’t Buy Groceries

Donald Trump took questions this afternoon at the White House, and was asked about the comments made by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross this morning, when Ross questioned why an unpaid federal worker would need to visit a food bank.

Trump said, “Local people know who they are. When they go for groceries and everything else. And I think what Wilbur was probably trying to say is that [unpaid federal workers] will work along. I know banks are working along…And that’s what happens in a time like this. They know the people, they’ve been dealing with them for years and they work along…the grocery stores…and I think that’s probably what Wilbur Ross meant.”

Ummm…WHAT??? This isn’t 1952!
