Watergate’s John Dean Unloads on ‘Wuss’ Donald Trump, He’s a ‘Fake Leader’

John Dean, Nixon’s former White House counsel and a key figure in the Watergate scandal, unleashed on Donald Trump in a tweet Sunday night and called him a “wuss.”

“Trump’s bitching and whining and complaining is non-stop. The presidency reveals its occupant: Trump’s not only incompetent he’s actually a wuss,” Dean wrote. “Like most bullies he’s a coward. As with most autocrats he’s a very frightened person. He’s a fake leader, who thinks nasty is strong.”

Dean was quote-tweeting Trump, who had taken to the platform to call special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election a “witch hunt hoax.”

Dean has spoken out against Trump several times in recent weeks, calling the president “evil” and saying Trump makes the “long nightmare” of the Watergate scandal “seem like a brief idyllic daydream.”

The former White House legal counsel pleaded guilty to one count of obstruction of justice and became a prosecution witness as the Watergate saga played out.

Most of his comments have regarded Mueller’s investigation, although he has recently been taking more shots at Trump directly.

His recent comments come just days after more revelations about Mueller’s investigation become public, including that Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen is cooperating extensively with the special counsel.

Twitter seemed to agree with Dean:
