Trump Made No Effort To Greet Jimmy Carter — The Oldest Living President — At Bush’s Funeral

According to several reports, Donald Trump made no effort to greet President Jimmy Carter, the oldest living American president, during the funeral service for President George H.W. Bush on Wednesday.

As Trump and his wife arrived to sit in the “President’s Club” pew at the Washington National Cathedral, Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, looked straight ahead, and Trump didn’t even look at them.

After the lack of a greeting, President Carter checked his watch and turned his head away from the others to chat with his wife, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter. As everyone was seated, everyone in the “President’s Club” pew sat quietly, eyes forward.

“President Donald Trump stared straight ahead. Former President Bill Clinton scanned the program. Former President Jimmy Carter checked his watch,” the USA Today said.

The cold reception was a bit odd, as Carter has been fairly quiet about Trump in the media. Carter has openly said that Trump would deserve the Nobel Peace Prize if he brought about denuclearization in North Korea.

Carter also said it was wrong for Democrats to even think about impeaching Trump.
