Donald Trump signed the First Step Act in the Oval Office on Friday, as the imminent threat of a government shutdown looms.

After making several claims that the shutdown was on the Democrats, Trump allowed others in the room to speak…and by speak, I mean praise him.

Pence spoke, and being the sycophant he is said, “Just thank you for your leadership. Thank you for stepping up…I think about the election night when you pledged to be the president for all American people. This bill represents your commitment.”

Then Trump moved to Jared Kushner, who also kissed Trump’s ass, saying, “Most importantly, I have to thank the president. Without your leadership – everyone kept asking me, ‘will the president be onboard?’ I said, look, I don’t know. Criminal justice reform wasn’t an issue you spent time with. This wasn’t relevant to the real estate industry”

Trump then moved on to daughter Ivanka, who has the title “Senior Advisor to the President.”

Donald Trump said, “I think what I will do is ask a very special person to speak because whenever Jared had any difficultly with me he’d send in a real power, named Ivanka. She would call me and say, ‘Daddy, you don’t understand, you must do this.’ And I said ok.”

Ivanka then spoke, giving all the credit to her father and husband, because nepotism is alive and well in the White House.

Ivanka also said that now that the bill has been signed, she might see Jared more often.

“Maybe I’ll get a little bit more time with him now.”
