Over the weekend, former FBI Director James Comey made some comments about Donald Trump’s unacceptable behavior and how voters can stand up to it and vote him out of office, explicitly saying the Democrats “have to win” in 2020.

Comey’s comments have gotten a lot of attention in the past few days, and after today’s wild on-camera skirmish with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Donald Trump took to Twitter to blast Comey and say that he exposed himself as a Democrat who shouldn’t have been in charge of the FBI.

Trump tweeted, “James Comey just totally exposed his partisan stance by urging his fellow Democrats to take back the White House in 2020. In other words, he is and has been a Democrat. Comey had no right heading the FBI at any time, but especially after his mind exploded!”

In an interview earlier this year, Comey said he used to be a Republican but lamented that the party “left me.”

Twitter quickly called out Trump:

Donald Trump was a Democrat from 2001 to 2009. He donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democrats over the years (including Hillary Clinton).

Comey is a lifelong Republican who just changed his political affiliation for the first time.

James Comey no longer works for the fbi. He is a private citizen voicing his opinion based on what he has seen you do for the last 2-3 years. And I assume his knowledge is much more in-depth then the average citizens.
