Trump Just Dismissed Climate Change Contributing To Fires, Then Babbles, ‘I Want Great Climate’

During his trip to California on Saturday to survey the wildfire damage and meet with law enforcement, Donald Trump was asked about whether climate change played a role in the wildfires.

He said there are a “lot of factors,” pointing to the “management factor” right away and saying there are things he and Gov. Jerry Brown are discussing. Trump brought up the farm bill and the money he wants to put in for “management and maintenance of the forests.”

Trump was then directly asked if seeing all the devastation makes him rethink his opinion on climate change at all.

“No, no, I have a strong opinion,” Trump said, before adding, “I want great climate. We’re going to have that and we’re going to have forests that are very safe.”
