Donald Trump just hit Twitter where he is complaining that a series of apparent mail bombs sent to prominent Democrats is halting Republican “momentum” ahead of the midterm elections.
“Republicans are doing so well in early voting, and at the polls, and now this ‘Bomb’ stuff happens and the momentum greatly slows – news not talking politics. Very unfortunate, what is going on. Republicans, go out and vote!” he tweeted.

Trump’s use of scare quotes around the word “bomb” appeared to reflect skepticism about the story, which has dominated cable news for days.
Some of Trump’s allies have suggested, without evidence, the packages are part of a “false flag” operation by liberals to hurt Republicans ahead of next week’s midterms.
His tweet comes moments after police intercepted two more devices sent to Democratic Senator Cory Booker and Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper at CNN, where he now serves as a contributor.
The suspicious packages have been mailed to former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, former President Obama and other Trump critics.
Twitter is sickened:
Woah. Trump just implied that the assassination attempts are a hoax. There’s no other way to read this. “Bomb stuff” and then putting “bomb” in quotes, suggesting it’s not real. https://t.co/ZXcTRNSOue

Using terror attacks to drum up the vote, no subtlety, no polish
not a call for unity; a call for pressing advantage
repugnant even by his own low bar https://t.co/Yq4P1cZ8ox

Holy shit. The president is suggesting a string of bombs mailed to his critics is a false flag. This is Alex Jones-level stuff. https://t.co/fQgrBfdbiR

It's a high bar, but this may be the lowest of the low we've seen from Trump on Twitter. Conspiratorial. Hyper-partisan. Ignorant. Devoid of empathy and even humanity. Unbecoming of the Office–or any public office. https://t.co/eyvncksN1O

anyone condoning this is a traitor. an enemy of their fellow citizens.
fuck this man, and fuck the Republican party. fuck you all. https://t.co/RbHQLFBBbT
